If you asked me what the most fun wedding I’ve ever been to was (apart of my own of course ;)...) I would reply it was Shelby and Cabien’s! Where to even start? First off, I love these venues. SVSU’s Founders Hall is an amazing indoor church setting for a wedding. There are windows EVERYWHERE and light is a wedding photographer’s best friend. Their reception took place at Apple Mountain in Freeland, Michigan. Their rooms are so beautiful for indoor receptions and dance photos in there are a dream.
Shelby and Cabien also happened to book the BEST wedding team they could have asked for! ;) Katie from Juneberry Media came along to second shoot with me and we met a new friend Jeff of Jeff Carpenter Studios. He’s a wedding videographer based out of Saginaw and is amazing at his job. He and his daughter were so fun to work with all day and it felt amazing to have a team of creatives bouncing ideas off each other.
Shelby and Cabien also made me a super happy wedding photographer by allowing tons and tons of portrait time after their ceremony. We all headed to downtown Bay City and got to walk around shooting our hearts out for quite a while. That city has some of my favorite backdrops for photos and I could not be happier with how they all turned out. I even turned this wedding into my studio sample album! There aren't many weddings where I'm not exhausted by the end of 8+ hours of running around, but I remember looking at Katie partway through the reception and saying "it doesn't even feel like we've been here all day." Time flies when you're having fun!
