I love love photographing weddings in Bay City, Michigan and the Doubletree hotel is one of the best wedding venues! Not only is the venue itself beautiful, but the surrounding city is too so there are amazing photo opportunities. Theresa and Daniel opted for a winter wedding and even though we didn’t have snow, their wintery touches such as the color choices and fur shawls really made an impact.
We started off with some getting ready photos in the hotel. I LOVE the bridal suite at the Doubletree. It's huge, gorgeous, and the natural light that comes in is the die for. Theresa had some gorgeous little touches like pearls, a crystal hair piece, and a sapphire engagement ring that really showed her personality. Their ceremony took place in the evening which was a fun change for me so we did most of the photos beforehand! They had an amazing family and wedding party that got things done in both an efficient and fun way! We even got an amazing sunset in DECEMBER! I was so happy. The ceremony included Daniel's son in many moments and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.
Right before the reception started we ran back out to do just a few more bride and groom photos under some string lights downtown. It made for some really magical shots. When we got back the maid of honor, best man, and Theresa's father gave some incredible speeches. The Doubletree's backdrop for the head table really made these photos special. The ballroom was the perfect setting for all of their dance photos. Katie from Juneberry Media was with me this entire wedding day and we lit the dance floor with some gorgeous off camera flash to it set the perfect mood. Daniel's son can be seen watching in the background and they're some of my favorite shots.
