I'm Lynzee, a Michigan wedding and portrait photographer.
I believe love and light are two of the closest things we have to real magic. We're so fortunate that photography utilizes both. The rays of the sun, the glow of the moon, the flicker of a fire, the rainbows of a prism. Light and shadow shape everything I create. Years ago I read a quote by Taylor Swift that so perfectly describes the way I live my life: “I’m intimidated by the fear of being average.” I don’t do anything small and I’m not satisfied with my work unless I’m continually pushing myself to create something better than I did before. Art, storytelling, and connection have stood the test of time throughout human history. We were designed to create, entertain, and love. I approach each wedding day like it's the most important love story that will ever be told. Because to you, it is.
How would I describe my style?
I love rich, true to life color and I shoot for your specific wedding. What's that mean exactly? If you're getting married in the middle of the day on the beach, we're going to embrace that bright sun. If you're getting married in an old theatre with spotlights, we'll create some drama. I'm confident in all lighting scenarios and no matter your venue's vibe, we'll use it to tell your story and create some gorgeous art.
I approach most of the day with a photojournalistic approach. There will be many times you'll forget I'm there. During portraits I'm skilled at both posing you beautifully enough to be an editorial piece and prompting you in ways to bring out cinematic romance. Most of the day will be photographed digitally with options available to include some portraits on 35mm film.
I'm in love with light and storytelling.
If you love too hard, think too much, are fascinated by the stars, and could listen to the same song 20 times in a row because they just get it...then stick around. I might be the photographer for you.
“A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.”
- Annie Leibovitz

Walking down the aisle. Your first kiss. Your family portraits. These are the big moments you expect out of your wedding photos. But my goal is to tell your whole story and to do that, we also need the little moments.
The look on your dad's face when he sees you in your wedding attire for the very first time. Your mom wiping away tears as you two exchange vows. The way you hold hands during dinner prayer. Grandpa's killer dance moves. Your wedding is a whirlwind of a day, you need someone ready to catch all the little details for you.
On your wedding day, my goal is always to be more than just your photographer. I've been photographing weddings for over 12 years and know the ins and outs of the day just about better than I know anything. I'll keep you calm, focused, and on schedule. My goal is always for you to get what you want out of your day.
I would love to chat more about how I approach wedding photography and what your dream wedding photos look like!
Where are you located?
I live in Alma, have a studio in Ithaca, and am happy to travel anywhere in Michigan and beyond (fees may apply). Some of my favorite spots are in Grand Haven, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Bay City, and Detroit!
How would you describe your style?
I love rich, true to life color with gorgeous lighting. I've never felt comfortable locking myself into the moody, light and airy, film inspired, etc. categories. Every person I photograph is different and therefore every session is a little different. You can expect consistent color and light that fits your location's vibe!
Do you shoot destination weddings?
It depends on the time of year and my schedule! Please inquire to see if I'm available and if I'm not, I'm happy to give you some wonderful referrals.
What is your turnaround time?
My turnaround for weddings is 5-7 weeks. All other sessions will be delivered within 2 weeks. Turnaround times are subject to change due to circumstances beyond my control and clients will always be notified if such an event has occurred.
Can we reschedule?
I allow reschedules only for illness or family emergencies. I have a limited number of days each month that I can shoot so I need to keep sessions on schedule. If the weather is going to be too extreme to permit shooting, I will contact you to find another day. There are more specifics about this in your session contract.
What kind of gear do you shoot on?
My main camera is a Canon R6 and my second used during weddings is a Mark IV! I mainly shift between my 70-200, 50, and 28-70 for lenses. If you want to know more specifics feel free to shoot me a message.
