I love my photo sessions with these kids! They are always so well behaved and their parents take my favorite approach to photos: Give me the kids and walk away. I truly believe you can get the best shots of kids when parents back up and just watch from afar. It gives the kids room to breathe and parents aren’t tempted to try to give them direction. The best photos of kids happen when they’re relaxed and just acting like kids! For these ones we let them run around a field in Alma, Michigan. We were hoping for a sunset, but the overcast light that day ended up working great too and the rain held off until we were just finishing up! The five of us have so much fun at every shoot. I love that their families make sure to get all four kids together yearly to document them growing up.
